How did you give or receive feedback this week?
This week, I received a lot of feedback in various ways. One of the most obvious ways was through the feedback stick figure I used at the end of the week. For this activity, I was especially interested in what the students remembered learning from the week.
There were various different types of responses to the question “what did I teach you this week?” A few of those included “how to be more with nature on not on my phone all the time”, “where to find the most macroinvertebrates at the pond”, “there is a chemical in your eye that can make you see better in the dark”, and “not to be scared and not to get sad.”
I really enjoyed seeing the range of things the students chose to focus on, some of them thought about what I had taught them in terms of our investigations and lessons, while others focused more on emotional skills. I really appreciated getting to learn this because it showed me how much students can learn from you, including things that you weren’t aware you were teaching.
